Botox Cosmetic?

You notice it in photos and on video calls: the lines between your brows or across your forehead that make you look tired or angry when you feel neither. When you smile, laugh, or frown, the muscles of your face contract, and over time those contractions etch lasting lines into the skin.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved injectable that contains a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. It temporarily relaxes the specific muscles that create these dynamic wrinkles, softening the lines you have and helping prevent them from deepening. How
Botox Works to Smooth Wrinkles

Overactive muscles or overuse of certain muscles can result in wrinkles and fine lines. A chemical transmitter known as acetylcholine released in the nerve fibers is responsible for contraction of muscles. BOTOX® injections work to block the nerves thereby preventing the release of acetylcholine. Instead of contracting, the muscles stay relaxed which means reduction of wrinkles.

What to Expect
During a Botox Procedure

Using a very fine needle, a series of tiny injections are placed into designated areas of your face that are causing the unwanted lines and wrinkles. There may be mild discomfort or a brief stinging sensation during the injection. BOTOX® Cosmetic has a well-established safety record when administered by trained medical professionals. The treatment takes only a few minutes, requires no anesthetic, and recovery is immediate, allowing you to return to work with few restrictions that same day.

Candidate for Botox Cosmetic?

Anyone looking to enhance their appearance by eliminating unwanted lines or wrinkles may be a good candidate for BOTOX® treatment. Most of our Botox patients fall into a few groups: first-time patients in their 30s and 40s who are starting to notice lines in photos, longtime patients who maintain their results with regular visits, and patients preparing for a wedding, reunion, or other event. During your consultation, we will tell you honestly whether Botox is the right tool for your goals or whether another treatment fits better. Botox injections are not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, or for patients who have certain neuromuscular disorders like Lambert-Eaton syndrome, myasthenia gravis, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s). People who are allergic to human albumin should also not undergo Botox treatment.

How Many
Botox Cosmetic Treatments Are Needed in a Year?

Depending on the extent of wrinkles and the areas that need to be treated, patients may need to visit three to four times in the first year and fewer injections may be needed subsequently as the muscles adapt to the relaxation. Since each individual responds differently, the medical professional is the best person to advise on the required number of treatments in a year.

Side Effects of Botox Cosmetic?

Refrain from strenuous activity such as a cardio workout for 24 hours after the injection.

Immediately following BOTOX® treatment, some patients may experience minor bruising at one or more of the injection sites. Results are apparent as soon as several days after the treatment and continue to improve up to ten days. The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic typically last 3-4 months, although results may vary.

I did research and I had a good few consultations and this was the most transparent and professional. They have a good lazer with color frequency and the communication was good.
