Summer fun is great for your wellbeing but not so great on your skin. Microneedling is a physical way of diminishing the appearance and a Chemical Peel would be the chemical way of treating sun damage.
IPL Photofacial
IPL is using an Intense Pulsed Light to bring the pigmentation to the surface of the skin, then anywhere from 3-10 days post treatment the pigment will start to get lighter (multiple treatments will be needed to see optimal results). The PicoSure Focus Lens is a laser treatment with minimal downtime. Our Focus Lens treatment is for benign pigmented lesions and will destroy abnormal amounts of melanin in the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue. Melanin is present in the superficial layers of the skin, the dermis, and the intraepidermal layers. The melanin is the chromophore that absorbs the intense laser energy causing the target (sun damage) to be destroyed.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses a device that contains 14 fine needles to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more even toned skin. Microneeding is most often used on the face, neck, and chest. In combination with microneedling a chemical peel can help diminish sun damage with the peeling of the superficial layers of the skin and reduce the appearance of the pigmentation.
Medical Grade Chemical Peels
Brightening peels can help reduce the pigmentation of very mild sun damage. A series of brightening peels can help brighten the skin and lift pigmentation over a series of treatments.
