An implant made of silicone is inserted into the pocket through the incision. The implant is fixed to the bone with screws, and medical sutures are then used to close the incision.

The Healing Process

Temporary swelling and bruising are typical following the chin augmentation surgery; these issues usually go away in a few days. During the healing process, a degree of discomfort and pain is natural, and doctors may prescribe painkillers to keep discomfort under control. In order to reduce pain, patients should consider a soft or liquid diet for a few days.

Your surgeon will provide post-surgical care instructions that you should follow to the letter in order to keep the healing period as short as possible. These instructions will also help you to avoid any complications.
