Functional Nasal Surgery
Functional nasal surgery, expertly performed by Dr. John D. Rachel, is a pivotal procedure aimed at improving nasal function, addressing issues such as breathing difficulties, structural abnormalities, or chronic sinusitis. This surgery not only enhances the nasal airway efficiency but also contributes to overall health and well-being by facilitating better breathing, improving sleep quality, and potentially reducing the occurrence of sinus infections.
By focusing on correcting functional problems within the nasal structure, patients under the care of Dr. Rachel can experience a significant improvement in their daily lives.
Common Nasal
Conditions Treated By Our Experts
Nasal Valve Collapse:Â This condition involves the weakening or narrowing of the nasal valve area, leading to significant airflow restriction. It often results from trauma, previous surgeries, or congenital structural weaknesses, causing difficulty in breathing through the nose.
Septal Deviation:Â Septal deviation occurs when the nasal septum, the structure dividing the nasal cavity into two nostrils, is displaced or bent, obstructing airflow and causing breathing difficulties, congestion, and recurrent sinus issues.
Turbinate Hypertrophy:Â This refers to the enlargement of the turbinates, structures within the nasal passage that warm and moisten the air we breathe, leading to nasal obstruction and chronic congestion.
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction:Â Dysfunction of the Eustachian tube, which connects the middle ear to the back of the nose, prevents proper opening and closing, causing symptoms like ear fullness, discomfort, and reduced hearing.
