Congratulations! Expecting a child is an exciting time. Pregnancy can be a time of drastic changes to your body and your skin, but understanding which skin care products are safe to use doesn’t have to be confusing. Our certified estheticians can help you navigate and recommend products that are safe to use during pregnancy and while nursing. Don’t get stuck in a skin care regimen that can potentially harm your unborn child- let us help you make informed decisions about the products you use to keep your skin healthy and the ingredients to avoid.

Your skin serves as a protective barrier, however certain components of certain products you apply to it can be readily absorbed into your skin and enter your bloodstream. This means those components can reach the placenta, and thus, your unborn child. These skincare ingredients should be avoided:

Skin lighteners with Hydroquinone
Retinoids: Retinol, Retin A/Accutane, Topical Vitamin A
Chemical Sunscreens: Avobenzone, octinoxate and oxybenzone
All Hydroxy Acids (Alpha, Beta and Poly)
